| Why the Culture War Matters | RU Sophisticated? |

EXACTLY. Wed have to invent her. And if liberals didnt have such pompous thin skins, Ann Coulter wouldnt have a job.
The flap over Ann Coulter and her new book, Guilty: Liberal "Victims" and Their Assault on America is par for the course. Liberals cannot help getting all riled up when Coulter comes into the room.
Did NBC ban Coulter from its airwaves? Or did they put her off for a day because of the important Gaza conflict? Who knows; who cares?
But we do know that liberals hate everything about Ann Coulter and everything she writes.
Oh yes, of course. Her humor is sophomoric. No doubt thats why she is so popular with college conservatives. Someone has to do the sophomoric humor. Theres a market for that sort of stuff, you know. With liberals it involves a lot of f-words and s-words. For conservatives it makes much more sense to make fun of liberals.
You have to say that Harry Smiths pompous interview of Coulter on CBS was iconic, as media critic Brent Bosell demonstrates.
Harry Smith hosted Maher on CBS just months ago on his faith-mocking movie "Religulous" and didnt say one discouraging word to him about his caustic remarks about Cheney or his hateful anti-Christian bigotry. Not one word.
But with Coulter, its another tone completely.
[Smith] called her "goofy," "simplistic," "sophomoric" and a "whiner." "You should have a cross," he said dismissively. "You should put yourself up on a cross."
And on Hannity and Colmes when Coulter indicted liberals for attacking the nuclear family and encouraging single-parent families, Alan Colmes asked her why she wasnt married.
Warning to conservatives: Dont you try that. Conservatives arent allowed to make sexist comments like that: Why arent you married? It could be career ending for you. And not just in the liberal media.
While we are at it, lets put up Ellwood and Jencks 2004. It tells you what liberals have done to America.
Never forget. Liberals did that. Liberals deprived millions of children of the right to have a mother and a father. At home. With them where they live.

Civil Societya complex welter of intermediate institutions, including businesses, voluntary associations, educational institutions, clubs, unions, media, charities, and churchesbuilds, in turn, on the family, the primary instrument by which people are socialized into their culture and given the skills that allow them to live in broader society and through which the values and knowledge of that society are transmitted across the generations.

We have met with families in which for weeks together, not an article of sustenance but potatoes had been used; yet for every child the hard-earned sum was provided to send them to school.

When we received Christ, Phil added, all of a sudden we now had a rule book to go by, and when we had problems the preacher was right there to give us the answers.

A writer who says that there are no truths, or that all truth is merely relative, is asking you not to believe him. So dont.

As far as the Catholic Church is concerned, the principal focus of her interventions in the public arena is the protection and promotion of the dignity of the person, and she is thereby consciously drawing particular attention to principles which are not negotiable...

At first, we thought [the power of the West] was because you had more powerful guns than we had. Then we thought it was because you had the best political system. Next we focused on your economic system. But in the past twenty years, we have realized that the heart of your culture is your religion: Christianity.

But the only religions that have survived are those which support property and the family.
Thus the outlook for communism, which is both anti-property and anti-family, (and also anti-religion), is not promising.

Danny Kruger, On Fraternity
Families helped each other putting up homes and barns. Together, they built churches, schools, and common civic buildings. They collaborated to build roads and bridges. They took pride in being free persons, independent, and self-reliant; but the texture of their lives was cooperative and fraternal.
